DayZ Update 1.27 Introduces Quality-Of-Life Improvements, Reworks Survival System, And More
Along with the update, Bohemia dropped a roadmap for the rest of the year.
It appears that DayZ players have quite a bit to look forward to this year, including an update that dropped today. Update 1.27 introduces several quality-of-life updates to the zombie survival game. Among these are enhancements to navigation, fishing & survival, and the introduction of the customizable boat decay system. The latter allows players to change decay settings to keep their boats from cluttering the map.
Players will also enjoy having more inventory space as new tool slots and generalized glowstick and radio slots have been added. The game should sound and look more realistic now too, with the implementation of new character sound effects and improved visual effects like snow falling off of trees.
The release of the update was accompanied by a full server wipe intended to balance things out for players and give them an even start.
Update 1.27 is just the first of three updates planned for 2025, as indicated in the roadmap proved by Bohemia. The roadmap also notes several seasonal events as well as the first update of 2026.
