DayZ's Final Update Of 2021 Lets You Slap Heads Around With A Craftable Barbed Wire Baseball Bat
There's a TON of quality of life changes, too...including changes to water consumption.
Today, Bohemia Interactive dropped DayZ’s final update for the year, adding several new items to the game as well as some adjustments intended to improve the player experience and make things more immersive.
New content-wise, the update adds two new AUR variants – both of which use the 5.56 NATO ammo. The first variant has a fixed scope and a 30 round magazine but is fairly limited customization-wise. The second allows players to choose from a wide array of scopes, has a suppressor, and is compatible with standardized magazines. The update also introduces a hunter vest featuring plenty of storage for players who need it. For those of you who like the personal touch and a little bit of vicious head-smashing, the ability to craft the barbed wire baseball bat has arrived.
On the quality of life end of things, Bohemia has adjusted consumption and water values so that it’s harder to maintain higher levels but at the same time made it have less of an impact on things like character health. The idea is to give players a better idea of when they should be concerned about those needs and prevent players from just taking in everything at once. They’ve also added audio feedback to switching the mode on a firearm and added onscreen directional hit effects. The second feature is customizable on player servers.
Additionally, players should prepare for a Christmas event. Santa is actually on his way.
