Daybreak's Job Listings Sound Like They're For That Marvel Game We're Anticipating
We know that Daybreak Game Company has a license to produce a game based in the Marvel comics universe. We also know that Daybreak is working on what it calls an "unannounced AAA MMO." And now there are job postings on Daybreak's careers page -- specifically from DC Universe Online substudio Dimensional Ink Games -- for that unannounced game.
The postings list a need for a Senior Combat Designer and Associate Game Designer, Combat. Both positions list the ability to "design and document multiplayer, RPG, action-based game systems" as a primary opportunity and require "Strong experience developing for a live product with at least 1 shipped MMO, Action, or RPG title preferred."
The rest is the kind of standard experience you'd expect for any kind of MMO-type game: developing NPCs AI, command of combat mechanics, understanding of gameplay loops, Unreal Engine 4 experience, and so on.
If you told me that this was for an existing game under Daybreak's (and especially Dimensional Ink's) banner, I'd instantly say that it sounded like DCUO. Since we know that the company has that Marvel license, I'm all but ready to declare that game announced. If that is what the job listings are for, it might wind up looking a lot like DCUO, albeit with some additional tweaks and modernization to account for a decade's worth of change in the MMO world.
