Daybreak Games' Extra Life Stream Brought In Over $40K For Rady Children's Hospital In San Diego
Following the latest Extra Life fundraising weekend, Daybreak Games announced that they have raised over $40,000 for Rady Children's Hospital. Rady is the largest children's hospital in California, the only hospital in San Diego dedicated exclusively to pediatric care, and the region's only pediatric trauma center.
As with other companies participating in Extra Life, Daybreak raised these funds with the help of its community, who both donated and took part in livestreams as part of Daybreak's team. The community helped raise approximately $20k, while Daybreak matched the donations dollar-for-dollar in order to hit the $40k total.
These donations combined with those from other companies contribute to more than $8 million raised during the Extra Life streams this year. They also assured Daybreak Games raised the third-highest amount of money for those participating in the US, and the highest total for participating game companies in California.
This money will go to help Rady patients, like eight-year-old Kellan Meehan -- pictured above with his friends Nathan and Luke -- get well.
