Dauntless Looks To The Future Of The Game In Monthly Dev Blog
There's a brand new world map, new creatures, improved events, and more in development.
Dauntless is looking toward the future in its latest dev blog, detailing what's in the pipeline for the MMO monster hunting game. Despite more layoffs being announced today, a brand new world map is on the way, so are new complex creatures, additional world fixtures, improved island events, and brand new Legend Hunts.
The new world map will be your guide through Dauntless, detailing the world in a way never before seen in the game, and replacing the hunt screen as your main menu for selecting hunts. Islands will feature defense scores, which mark you and your guildmates' activity on islands. The score will be reset every season and you will receive rewards based on that score.
There are new creatures coming to Dauntless as well. Orquids, Vespers, and Chaoxes are among the new creatures that will appear in game to help shake things up.
Island events will be happening island-wide, not just in a small area. They will also have known start times so players don't have to wonder when they begin. You're still free to explore the island, but the island event will offer some guidance on what to do next.
Finally, there are Legend Hunts, and they're exactly what you're thinking. Take the fight to a Behemoths lair where you will encounter new models and updated movesets. They will be designed to challenge even the most seasoned Slayer.
