Dark and Darker Cheaters

Dark and Darker’s developers seem to be working through all their other troubles, but you know how it goes, you smack one down, and another pops up. While the game is currently in Early Access despite that happening being a big question mark for a while, Ironmace now has other issues to deal with.

Of particular concern for the developer is cheaters. According to PCGamesN, Ironmace recently addressed the issue of cheaters on the game’s Discord channel. It seems that cheaters have been a big problem in early access, and they consider dealing with it a “serious priority”. To deal with this, they’ve created a Discord account that players can directly message with evidence of cheating. This will be available for about a month. During that time, they ask players to send a video link to the account with the hacker’s in-game name in the message. They also specify that “screenshots are not accepted”.

Hopefully, this method will help deal with the issue. Although, as it’s temporary, and cheating never is, they’ll definitely have more work to do.

As far as I know, it's a peer, to peer style of game, where one player hosts the game for those playing together. Such games have always been easier to cheat in, due to how much tends to be handled player side, so this issue was a given.
