The SMITE World Championships (SWC) in January just keep getting bigger and bigger. Not only is the prize pool now over $1.9 million, but it has just been announced that Curse Voice will now be the official sponsor and will provide the voice communication systems for the tournament.

“Curse Voice has become a critical and beloved tool for SMITE players since we introduced it to our players over the summer,” said Todd Harris, Chief Operating Officer of Hi-Rez Studios. “The service’s smooth integration with the game, and easy-to-use interface, have driven wide adoption and love from our community. We are proud now to feature the service at our biggest event yet, the SMITE World Championship!”.

If you are planning to attend the event live, expect to see Curse representatives willing to chat, passing out some free Curse merchandise, and giving out Curse skins for Apollo.

Honestly, when I reported on SMITE years ago on this very site, I knew it was fun but I had no idea it would grow to be this big. Are you surprised as well or did you see this coming?

I've always enjoyed Smite because it's different to League or Dota. That difference is critical in the MOBA genre. I'm happy to see it's doing really well after only a short period of time. This game is going places, most definitely!
