CS:GO Breaks All-Time Peak Player Records By A Mile Ahead Of Counter-Strike 2 Beta Launch
According to Steam, 1,519,457 players were online at the same time — 200,000 more than the previous milestone.
It seems like people are really excited for Counter-Strike 2 because Counter Strike: Global Offensive just broke a new all-time peak player record.
According to Steam, 1,519,457 players were online at the same time yesterday. That figure far and away beats the previous number by more than 200,000 players — which happened in April 2020. And it might be because Valve is giving access to CS2’s beta soon, favoring those who have spent many hours into CS:GO.
According to the giant developer, publisher, and digital distribution company, CS2 is the “largest technical leap forward” in the history of Counter-Strike. It will introduce new features and updates and they plan to keep delivering them “for years to come.” Among some of the features Valve did reveal are dynamic smoke grenades with smoke that interacts with other gameplay elements and reacts to lighting, changes to tick rate, and – of course – improved visuals in the maps.
