Crytek's Arena of Fate Headed to Closed Beta
Yes. The word "Arena" in the game's title does signify that it's a MOBA. Crytek is ready to take its version of the 5v5 classic MOBA formula into closed beta and sign ups have already started. Players at Gamescom will be able to get their hands on the current version of the game to take the free to play title for a test drive.
In Arena of Fate, you won't be choosing a hero based on gods from the real world or characters created from a developer's imagination. Instead, you'll be choosing from characters pulled right out of history or famous fictional characters. Want to see Robin Hood, Nikola Tesla, and Jack the Ripper square off? It's likely that you'll see those exact types of match ups in Arena of Fate.
Crytek’s Vesselin Handjiev, Managing Director of Crytek Black Sea, said: “As die-hard MOBA enthusiasts, our team has worked hard to create a truly original experience for players. We can’t wait to see how the game is received during Closed Beta testing, and will put all the feedback we receive to good use as we further refine Arena of Fate ahead of its launch.”
Matches in Arena of Fate are inspired by the competitive spirit and last-ditch drama of real sports, adding a unique twist to the MOBA genre as players fight to claim victory before a 20-minute time limit ticks away. Every point is precious, and the final score will be determined by each team’s ability to work in harmony as they unleash the distinctive skills of their heroes.
You can sign up for closed beta on the Arena of Fate website.
