CrossfireX Launch Delayed Until 2021, Citing Pandemic "Challenges"
Bigger than Fortnite, World of Warcraft, and League of Legends, Smilegate's Crossfire hasn't had much of a footprint outside of its native Asian region. That was scheduled to change with the launch of CrossfireX for Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X late this year, but -- as is the case for a lot of games these days -- difficulties stemming from the global pandemic have forced Smilegate and its co-developer, Remedy Entertainment, to push the launch to 2021.
The official CrossfireX account broke the news via Twitter today, which echoed an article on the offical web site and stated that the decision was made following "consideration of the challenges faced by the Smilegate development team due to COVID-19."

CrossfireX had an open beta in June and dropped a story trailer in July -- and those were the last two times we've heard any news about the game before today's announcement. Suffice it to say that things are proceeding slowly enough that we aren't likely to hear anything else before the new year.
