Cross-Progression Is Coming To Overwatch 2
Player’s don’t need to worry about losing their hard-earned cosmetics and items.
Players will soon be able to merge multiple Overwatch accounts to carry progression and in-game cosmetics into Overwatch 2 on one, single profile. Every player who owns a linked console account will be prompted at login to identify, select, and confirm the accounts they wish to merge. Once approved, Overwatch will prepare the accounts to be merged during the release of Overwatch 2 on October 4.
To begin, all players will need a Battle.net account to play Overwatch 2 no matter which platform is their platform of choice. Progress from linked console accounts will be stored on a player’s Battle.net account, which will also share in-game cosmetics and progress across the linked accounts.
A word of caution, there will only be one opportunity to merge console accounts, so players will need to double-check which accounts they wish to merge before they hit the confirm button. Of course with big changes come even bigger questions, so those curious about their accounts and how it all works should head over to Overwatch’s official post that answers all possible questions that may arise.
