Create And Play Your Own Games For Free With Core

Well, here's something new and it might just be perfect for the budding game devs among us. If you just haven't been able to find a game that speaks to you lately, including MMOs, Manticore Games is offering you the ability to create your own and share it with others.

The project, simply titled Core, is described as "an endless universe of games and worlds designed by a global community of creators." It offers players the ability to create an online game in under 10 minutes as well as access to scripting tutorials and even a full suite of free courses for game creators via the "Core Academy". Of course, players will need to download the Core client to do any of that.

Although it's still in Alpha, Core already boasts a library of player made games ranging from things like "balloon simulators" to the ever-present battle royale.

As for MMOs, the service already has several games under that heading, including an open world MMO, an ARPG, and even a zombie/raptor/shark survival game. Some of these are listed below.

• Corehaven Chronicles

  A new passage has opened to the mythical Valley of Life! See for yourself what wonders it holds, and see if you can claim the treasures that lie within. You’ll need might, magic, tactics, and a bit of luck to vanquish all of your foes.

• Treasure of Baland-Ur
  

  Explore ancient dungeon complex Baland-Ur. Fight with terrible monsters and discover all secrets and treasures of this dungeon!

• Dragon’s End

  After a long journey, you’ve arrived at the docks of the island town of Dragon’s End. Once besieged by a dragon, the town has nevertheless been peaceful for some time. • Corinthia

In addition to having over 40 narrative driven quests, it allows players to collect over 220 pieces of unique equipment, level up by battling a variety of enemies, and even raise your own pet to bring into combat with you.

• Kingdom Fall

  A true open world Action RPG. Team up with friends to slay epic monsters across the realm, loot the greatest of battle gear and fight against unprecedented evil.

• Island Survival

  You wake up on an island that is teeming with zombies, raptors and sharks. Can you survive? Cooperate with other players to explore the island, and learn to gather fruits, cut down trees, mine rocks and fight for your life.

As mentioned, Core is currently in Alpha and is available to download now. However, in April, players will also be able to access Core via the Epic Games Store, when it enters Early Access there.
