Having released into early access in mid January, Aloft's cozy island-based survival game has now received its first major update. If you've been exploring islands in the sky and trying to find your own home/skyship, you'll be happy to know that this is just the first major update that Astrolabe and Funcom have planned for early access.

"Critters and Wonders," as the name implies, adds quite a few new critters for players to catch including bees, butterflies, bats, frogs, and more. Whip out your net and start catching. You can take these critters around with you and even introduce them to new environments so they can get to work creating new ecosystems.

Explorers will want to search around to find the two new "Wonder Islands" added to Aloft. These special floating islands will offer ruins to explore, new treasures, discoveries, and more. More of these islands are planned to be added in future updates.

In response to community feedback, today's update also unlocks the ability to flag a new home as a "Shared Home." All users on the server can now work together to build and enhance the island. The full list of changes is up in the changelog.
