Counter-Strike 2 Seemingly Confirmed Real, Beta Coming Soon
According to anonymous sources, the sequel to Counter-Strike is "about ready to go."
Counter-Strike 2 is real, according to anonymous sources “with a knowledge of the game’s development.” That’s what esports journalist Richard Lewis says at least.
This weekend, he published an article on his website stating that Valve is actively working on the sequel to the massively popular multiplayer tactical FPS shooter Counter-Strike. Lewis’s sources say the game will run on the Source 2 engine, bringing significant updates to graphics and optimization.
Additionally, they say the official servers would be 128 tick — same as Valorant. Also, the sources noted the match-making system was overhauled as well.
Fortunately, Counter-Strike 2 is “about ready to go.” While no official confirmation announcement has been made yet, the tentative release date for the beta is as early as this month or April latest.
Following publication of the article, one of the sources tweeted: "It won't be new game, it won't be Counter-Strike 2, it won't be even a rebrand, just CS:GO Source 2." They added: "And your skins are fine, they will be available in new version."
