Contracts System Coming To Torchlight Frontiers, Think Battle Passes With A Free Version
Torchlight Frontiers is getting its own version of a seasonal, or battle pass, reward system in the next Alpha update. The new system -- called the Contracts system -- allows players to play as normal while picking up specific daily or weekly quests in exchange for special rewards.
The system is completely optional, so you can skip over it if you want. But don't think you'll have to skip it because it costs money, as there are free and pay versions.
The good news for those who elect to just do the free version is that gear will only be available through the free track quests.
As noted, the system will be launching in Alpha and that test version will be about half as long as they intend for the live version -- lasting 25 levels instead of 50. It will consist of daily and weekly challenges and boss killing activities.
Alpha testers who complete contracts will be able to keep the rewards they earn as they roll into the live version of the game. And since the devs want to test the entire thing, the paid track will be available for free during this time as well.
Those interested in finding out more about Contracts and what's changing in the next update can watch today's Twitch stream on the PlayTorchlight channel.
