"Competitive Drives" Bonus Event In Overwatch 2 Not Only Drops Extra Competitive Points, But Also A New Signature Cosmetic
These drives will happen in other seasons, too.
Overwatch 2's 12th season isn't long for this world anymore. However, if you're still planning for a last-minute push up that competitive ladder, this weekend may be the weekend to do so. Running until Monday morning, the hero-shooter is adding a "Drive Meter" into competitive play.
It's simple, really. Win matches, meter goes up. Lose matches, meter goes down. That said, there are checkpoints along the meter to lock in your rewards. The amount of "Drive Points" earned per match is directly related to your Skill Point percentage, being 10 times your percentage. Did you gain 21% towards your next tier? Then you get 210 Drive Points. Losing takes away 5 times your Skill Point percentage loss.
With 6 tiers of additional rewards, you'll have the ability to earn either additional competitive points or a new cosmetic Signature. This displays on your name card and in a few other areas. The team plans to have drives for the next 3 seasons (including the current 12th season) with new Signatures each season. Any time a new drive kicks off, your Signature resets.
