Classic Destiny Raid Vault Of Glass Arrives In Destiny 2 On May 22
Earlier this year, Bungie let everyone know that classic Destiny raid Vault of Glass would be coming to Destiny 2 with Season 14. That time is almost upon us, and yesterday Bungie revealed some of the details regarding exactly how and when Guardians would be taking their shots against Atheon.
The Vault of Glass will open for business on May 22 at 10 a.m. PDT, and while it will be mostly familiar to veteran Guardians, there will be some differences, "to bring this content up to Destiny 2 standards," as Bungie put it. As usual, there will be a World First race for completion, which is especially appropriate considering that Vault of Glass was the first time Bungie attempted this kind of competition, all the way back in 2014.
Things won't be exactly the same as in previous races, however. It will launch in Contest Mode for the first 24 hours, with a 1300 Power cap. Clearing the Vault in that fashion will grant access to the new Challenge Mode in the Director and the Tempo's Edge Triumph. Completing that is how you'll actually earn credit for a clear, and potentially a World First prize.
That prize is another championship belt, this one featuring the name of the original Vault of Glass race winners from 2014, Primeguard, as well as the 2021 champions. And who knows? Maybe you'll get your name on another belt years down the line when Vault of Glass: The Re-vaulting premieres in Destiny 3?
