Chris Metzen Returns To Warcraft Involvement As Creative Advisor On Warcraft Leadership Team
So, something about the "Return of the King" may be appropriate?
John Hight, general manager of Warcraft, announced today via Twitter that long-time World of Warcraft leader Chris Metzen is returning to the team as a Creative Advisor on the Warcraft Leadership Team. Initially, Metzen's focus will be on World of Warcraft but he will branch out from there to assist with "other projects in the growing franchise."

Seeing as Chris Metzen obviously has a long and storied past with the MMORPG, it's no surprise to see that the announcement is being met with some celebration from fans, some of whom are calling this the "Return of the King."
Since leaving Blizzard in 2016, Metzen has been heading up his new company, Warchief Gaming, which has largely been focused on the development and launching of Auroboros, a 5E tabletop campaign.
We'll be eagerly awaiting details on Metzen's exact involvement with Warcraft as 2023 kicks off since we've seen the departure of a lot of longtime talent from Blizzard lately, it's interesting to see the return of someone who for so long was synonymous with the franchise.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
