The Elder Scrolls Online Endless Archive

Here’s some more deets on The Elder Scrolls Online’s free Endless Archive/Update 40 — which is arriving on PC and Mac on October 30 and consoles come November 14.

A new patron and deck for Tales of Tribute — featuring Hermaeus Mora — is to be introduced. This addition to the MMORPG is designed to bring fast-paced and powerful gameplay to the table. The Hermaeus Mora deck introduces the "setback" mechanic, where players trade a resource to make a card cheaper to purchase. Additionally, the patron ability allows players to acquire non-contract cards in the Tavern, with the opponent receiving a copy of the acquired card.

The design of the Hermaeus Mora deck is inspired by the concept of "power at a price," emphasizing bargains and tradeoffs — which aligns with the character's lore. Players piloting this deck can expect fast-paced games that require expert timing and decision-making. The key decisions revolve around when to use the patron power and whether the setback is worth the reward.

In terms of synergy, Hermaeus Mora pairs well with patrons like Pelin and Red Eagle, who can accelerate the game's pace, and Hunding and Almalexia, who enhance the patron power with Refresh. However, the deck might struggle against decks like Rajhin, which can slow down the accumulation of Prestige, or Hlaalu — which can capitalize on the resources given to the opponent.

To acquire the full Hermaeus Mora set, players must venture into the new Endless Archive PvE activity and collect fragments within the archive.
