Chaotic Squad Shooter "Rift Sweepers" Will Kick Off Early Access On Steam This September
Battle against grotesque creatures across time while collecting...pizza boxes?
Korea-based publisher and indie developer JOFSOFT has announced it will bring its time-traveling chaotic squad shooter, "Rift Sweepers," to Steam next month in early access. Players will be able to choose a member from a cast of characters, battle against hordes of grotesque creatures through dimensions, and take a bite of pizza along the way.
Speaking of pizza, it's actually super important to grab a bite to eat while shooting up baddies. Pizza boxes will fall from the sky, replenishing energy and ammunition of players who obtain them, and is even passable between teammates.
Whether you choose the nimble rifleman John or deadly sharpshooter Simon, each character has unique abilities that become more deadly by leveling them up. Completing missions and getting paid opens room to upgrade your arsenal so you can get back to eviscerating mobs of enemies.
There are also bosses in this game, waiting at the end of missions with the backdrop of subways, sewers, cyber restaurants, an ancient sorcerer's tomb, and more. From the in-game lobby between dimensions, players can customize their characters, rally up friends, and prep for the next mission. The early access will see content and character improvements over time and likely continue until its planned release for March 2023.
