Celebrate The New Year With The Return Of Heavensturn In Final Fantasy XIV And Add To Your Great Serpent Minion Collection
He’s like a ghostly version of everyone’s favorite little “scree”er.
Once again, the new year is almost upon us. For some of us, that means a late night of drinking and frivolity. For others, it might mean a week of listening to your neighbors firing off questionably obtained fireworks. For Final Fantasy XIV players, it means the return of the hebi bugyo to Limsa Lominsa as they work to share more about their culture with Eorzeans – and rewards, always the rewards.
This year, the hebi bugyo plan on testing our knowledge of Heavensturn customs with a “trial of trivia”. As it’s almost impossible to get adventurers involved in anything that doesn’t offer rewards, they’re offering a few – one of which looks a bit familiar. Imagine if the Great Serpent of Ronka looked like a ghost version of itself wearing a persimmon on its head. That’s the game’s newest minion, The Great White Tsuchinoko. Apparently, the little guy brings good fortune with him, so it might be worth keeping him close by.
As for the other rewards, the event also includes two housing items: a consumable item, the “Oriental New Years Meal,” and a wall decoration, the “Springtide Fan Stand”. While the announcement doesn’t specify, it’s pretty likely that these two items are special vendor items.
Heavensturn kicks off in the MMORPG next Tuesday, December 31. As always, you’ll have plenty of time to complete the quest and earn your items, as it runs until Thursday, January 16, 2025.
