Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II Introducing A New In-Game Reporting System
Now with fresh ways to report toxic players.
A new feature is being introduced to Call of Duty, beginning in Modern Warfare II. In an effort to curb toxic activity in the shooter, Activision Blizzard is introducing a new reporting system. It will offer players new ways to report infractions and offer the moderation teams ways to restrict player features in response to confirmed reports. One of these ways will be to mute a player who has been found to be offensive in voice chat across all in-game chat features. The system is also able to restrict text chat features, should players be found to be abusive there as well.
The new features will roll out in other Call of Duty games later on, beginning with Warzone 2.0. It will be added as a foundational feature for all Call of Duty titles going forward. When it does, the reporting system will be expanded to also allow players to provide context for the developers. They’ll be able to provide more information and help the developers better understand what happened.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
