Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision released an Artwork Reveal video today on their next Call of Duty installment, Modern Warfare 2, and it shows off the game's release date. And, just a couple of days before Summer Game Fest, Modern Warfare 2 might potentially see an info dump on June 8 (if you watch closely, it's a date spray painted on one of the crates in the video below).

As the second reboot game in the Modern Warfare series, Task Force 141 will become the center point of the campaign. In fact, the Artwork Reveal shows off a familiar cast, including Captain John Price, Simon "Ghost" Riley, and other operators fans know and love. It's a mild teaser, though, since there isn't any gameplay to get the blood pumping and excitement shooting through the roof. Simply put, it's all art pieces revealing the characters involved in the game and serves as a marketing snippet to get people ready for its release.

As a reboot game of a 2009 title, this is a good move for Infinity Ward and Activision. It's the sequel to 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which performed well within its core fanbase because it stuck to its strengths, and hopefully, Modern Warfare 2 continues the trend with its campaign and modes.
