The third season for Call of Duty: Warzone is underway, in what's being called an "earth-shattering Warzone update." It starts with the Hunt for Adler, which gives Operators Intel Challenges to complete in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Complete them for various cosmetic rewards, and if you can do them all, you'll receive an Adler skin for both games.

There are naturally lots of other rewards available in this update, both via the battle pass and by upping your prestige level. At the top of the battle pass pyramid is the "White Queen" Wraith Skin and "Roman Standard" Legendary Sniper Rifle Blueprint.

The biggest part of the patch notes for this season is devoted to the myriad changes to weapons. There are two new weapons, and two new weapon unlock challenges, along with tweaks to 11 existing weapons and all sorts of attachments. In particular, the FFAR 1 sees a significant downgrade to its damage, range, and ADS speed, in an effort to end its "lengthy reign of terror on the short-to-mid range engagement space." Raven Software admits that so much is being changed that there could be some issues, saying "we may make some adjustments shortly after Season 3 launch to ensure the meta is healthy and stable."

Finally, we'd be remiss if we didn't bring up the download size, which is always a sticking point for Black Ops and Warzone. While that was reduced slightly last month, you'll need another 22.6 to 25.9 GB for the new Warzone content, depending on your platform (PC, Xbox X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation 5). Learn more about the new season on the Raven Software site or the Call of Duty site.
