Bulgarian Developer Beast Burst Showcases Its Scars Of Honor MMORPG
Offers scaling dungeons and all the other typical MMO fixings
Indie MMORPG Scars of Honor is open for pre-alpha business, which means that Bulgarian developer Beast Burst Entertainment has a shiny website and a basic description of the game, and it's looking for crowdfunding money -- and that's just about all you need to get a project off the ground these days, isn't it?
Scars of Honor describes itself as a free-to-play open-world 3D MMORPG with two factions, eight races, 10 classes, weather, heavy social interaction, guilds, dungeons -- the MMORPG works. The dungeons scale with the players' levels which is a nice touch, but other than that, it's hard to find anything too unusual in the descriptions that sets the game apart from other, similar, titles.
The developers are pouring their hearts into it, though, as evidenced by the copious number of videos they've produced, including three dev diaries (#1, #2, #3), as well as videos showing off the homelands of the two factions, the Sacred Order and the Dominion, and 3D renders of various races and genders, such as the human female and undead male. You can even view footage of the stress test from June or the Q&A that preceded it. As of now, testing is limited to certain times and to those who have prepurchased a Supporter or Honorable account.
In short, Beast Burst is putting a lot of high-level info out there to let you make the decision as to whether Scars of Honor will be worth your time. It's touting a "for the community" motto that indicates that it will take player feedback into account -- again, hardly unique, but it at least looks like you'll be able to make a well-informed decision if you do decide to try the game out and offer that feedback.
