Building Your Skyforge Character: Stat Preview
Holy info graphic, Batman! Today, Obsidian Entertainment and The Allods Team have provided an in depth view of the stats and abilities system that will be used in My.com's upcoming MMORPG, Skyforge. The info graphic is a bit daunting at first, but after a read through on the official website, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to tailor your character exactly the way you want to play.
It may look complex at first glance, but actually it seems pretty straight forward once you break it down. Your damage is the sum of your base damage, bonus damage, critical damage, and impulse damage. Each of those 4 damage types has a particular stat that increases the damage. Want to play a character that does more burst damage? Increase your Impulse Damage and you can do that. How do you increase the stats in those four damage categories? Easy. First, and the most obvious method, your weapons and rings. These can impact base or advanced stats through modifiers. Second, your Ascension Atlas. Complete tasks in game (like PvP) and you can unlock nodes that can add to your stats.
You'll want to build your following as well though since your Order can also grant you stat increases in multiple ways depending on the scope of your influence in the world.
I am eager to jump into this system. It seems straight forward while still retaining a bit of customization. Will it avoid the "cookie cutter builds" though? We'll have to see when beta starts later this year.

But I'm very surprised not to see stats like movement speed or attack speed in that infographic, are those type of stats class based and locked or did i get lost in translation?
