Buddies Are Coming Back To Hearthstone's Battlegrounds And Are Being Added To Battlegrounds Duos
Turn timers are also being increased while you learn to use Buddies.
We still don't have a date for the release of Hearthstone's 29.6 patch, but we do know that when the update is added to the card game, not only will a few hero updates and minions be added, but Buddies will come back to Battlegrounds, too.
Buddies will make their debut in Battlegrounds Duos, as well.
What's a Buddy? Every Hero in Hearthstone gets a powerful minion called a "Buddy." These minions aren't in the general minion pool and are specific to each hero. Twice per match you'll be able to slap that "Buddy" button to summon your friend, with the cost to do so reducing each time you win, lose, or draw in battles (reduction varies by each.)
The second time you summon your friend, they're a bit more expensive.
Since it's been a bit since the last time we saw Buddies (March 2023), Blizzard will be extending the turn timer in Battlegrounds and Battlegrounds Duos by 10 seconds to let you get acclimated. Twelve new Buddies will be introduced in the patch including Cap'n Hogger Shining Sailor, Snake Eyes Box Cars, and Nameless One Faceless One. Past buddies are also receiving updates.
Check out the full announcement to see who your new favorite Buddy will be.
I've posted the old Buddies video overview posted the last time they were in the game if you need a refresher.
