As Broken Ranks finishes celebrating its 3rd anniversary and the most powerful boss in the game, Sidraga, closes in on its 2nd anniversary atop the difficulty ladder, it's time for Whitemoon Games to reveal some of the 2025 plans it has for the turn-based MMORPG. They already teased some of this information late last week, but now we've got a few more details on what players can expect.

First up is a bit of a contentious piece in Broken Ranks. The game's existing "Percentage-Based" system has caused some frustration...even "Rage," if you will. In 2025, the team wants to turn this into something a bit more positive. Enter the "Bad Luck" bar. Each time something bad happens in combat (for example you miss), this bar will fill up a bit. Once filled, you'll get a bonus action. These actions aren't quite ready yet, but expect them to focus on things like additional attacks, additional defenses, or additional rewards.

When looking at actual new "content", 2025 will see the storyline continue into Act 4 and the introduction of "Challenge Arenas." Think of these arenas as special boss fights where the odds are just ever so slightly stacked against you based on your level range. They will be surmountable, but you'll have to use strategy, timing, and coordination. Simply coming in at high levels will not be enough.

Along these same lines, it's time for the strongest boss in the game to no longer be the strongest boss. I mean, people have been taking on Sidraga for almost two years now. This addition will come with a whole new zone, too.

Pets haven't received any updates since launch (pretty much) so expect a full rework there, too.

None of this is set in stone and there's still many details to work out, but the team will keep updating the site as details emerge. They also promise a few secrets not already discussed.

If you play the mobile version of Broken Ranks, keep an eye on their social media. The mobile version will get its own 2025 update plan but it won't happen until later this month.
