Breakthrough, The Cycle Frontier’s Third Season, Introduces A Monstrous Flying Howler Today
It also brings new anti-cheat measure, the end of server wipes, and more.
Today, The Cycle: Frontier dropped its third season on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Titled “Breakthrough”, the update introduces a new threat known as the “Howler” to the shooter. This is a huge flying enemy that’s able to wreak havoc from far away and up close. Basically, nowhere is safe. But, those who are able to take it down will earn some impressive rewards, so perhaps it’s worth the risk.
In addition to the Howler, this update also introduces some important system changes to the game. These include new features to enhance the anti-cheat measures that Yager has been working on since launch and the removal of mandatory server wipes. Included in the anti-cheat enhancements is the Victim Compensation System, which refunds items to players who were killed by cheaters. Also being added is Shielded Matchmaking. This detects Trusted Status players and helps to prevent cheaters from getting around their bans.
Due to the removal of mandatory server wipes, the devs have rebalanced the game and its economy in order to create a long-term focus, enhance the endgame, and make high-end gear more valuable. The team has also reworked campaigns and added new endgame quest lines.
