Break Out Your Genius Invocation Decks, Genshin Impact’s Version 3.7 Update Brings The King Of Invokations Grand Prix Tournament

Once again, Hoyoverse is revealing another Genshin Impact update before some of us have even had a chance to finish the last one. The Version 3.7 update, “Duel! The Summoners' Summit!” was previewed during this morning’s Special Program. Yes, there are new codes that will expire before the day is out and yes, they’ll be at the bottom of this post.

Version 3.7 isn’t as big of an update as others. It’s more of an event thing. We’re not sure if this is intended to replace the Summer event that typically takes us to the Apple Archipelago for some mystery and fun provided by Klee’s mom or not. This event will be having players travel around Teyvat as they help Fontaine reporter Charlotte cover The King of Invokations Grand Prix Tournament for her newspaper The Steambird. The Traveler will be of use to her since they’re acquainted with all the contestants – because, of course, they are.

Charlotte and the Traveler won’t just be covering the tournament, however. There’s always something to report on and apparently there some sort of “strange case” that Charlotte deems newsworthy. She doesn’t say what that thing is in the stream, but there’s mention of a “card snatcher” in the trailer. So, perhaps that has something to do with it.

In addition to the story event, 3.7 will kick off our game modes: A Tour of Wonders, Zero Hour Invokation, Evermotion Mechanical Painting, and Heart of the Dice. These are all returning events – although with a few tweaks in additions.

Since the focus of this update seems to be the Genius Invocation TCG, the developers are updating the card game as well. This includes adding a bunch of new cards – including ones for the Anemo, Geo, Electro, and Dendro archons. Character cards, monster cards, and action cards will be added as well. The update also adds new PvP and PvE content for players to enjoy.

There’s also another bit of story involving everyone’s favorite fireworks girl Yoimiya. Apparently, she’s ready to take advantage of the fact that travel is no longer restricted in Inazuma and would like to go on a trip to Sumeru with the Traveler.

A new feline character is being introduced in 3.7 as well, a yokai from Inazuma named Kirara. She’s a Dendro user with a shield and a unique travel ability that allows her to walk straight up walls. But she has to turn into a box-cat first. Kirara works as a delivery person for Komaniya Express, so this ability comes in handy. She’ll be available in the first half of 3.7s Event Wishes – along with Yoimiya and Yae Miko. The second half will be a rerun of Kaedehara and Alhaitham.

Speaking of Alhaitham, we’ll also be getting to spend some time with his softie of a roomie, Kaveh, in a new Hangout event.
