Bohemia Interactive To Make Game Builder Ylands Free-To-Play
When Bohemia Interactive launches its game builder Ylands on Steam, officially taking it out of Early Access, they'll also be making a small change to the pricing. I say "small" because the current buy-in isn't really all that much. Currently, you can buy the game for $15, but when version 1.0 launches it will become free-to-play.
The idea is that by dropping the cost, the game builder will attract more users ready to create things for people to play -- as well as to play those things. That said, not all of the game will be free. Bohemia will be offering a separate "Exploration" pack for a fee. Exploration will contain a separate mode as well as premium currency and cosmetics for $20 US. Those who have already purchased Early Access will already have access to the pack, so if you want the pack, you may just want to go ahead and grab the Early Access to save yourself $5.
