Blizzard Names Holly Longdale As New World Of Warcraft Executive Producer
It remains to be seen how this will impact the game, but seems likely it won't be anything too drastic.
Well, here's an interesting bit of non-expansion, non-drama-related World of Warcraft news. The game has a new Executive Producer. Holly Longdale, who joined the company in 2020 after working as an Executive Producer for Darkpaw Games, will be taking on the role. She revealed her new position yesterday via Twitter with several members of the Blizzard staff congratulating her.
I'm beyond excited to take on the role of Executive Producer of #WorldOfWarcraft. It's an honor to work with this team and these games. My heart is full! Cheers to the future we will continue to build together -- both players and the teams!

While some may speculate about what this means for the future of the game, it seems unlikely that it will change much. Longdale has already been with the company for a few years and the structure remains in place, including Ion Hazzikostas acting as Game Director. It does, however, at least as far as we can tell, make Longdale the first woman to hold the Executive Producer role for World of Warcraft – a role, that due to her history, she’s apparently more than qualified for.
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
