Blizzard Hosting Hacked Quick Play Weekend In Overwatch – "Quicker Play"
Everything is even faster.
This weekend, Blizzard is hosting a Quick Play event in Overwatch. Only, things are a bit different, because it’s the first Quick Play: Hacked event – Quicker Play. Just like the name says, this mode speeds things up a bit. Respawns take 75% of the time, Payloads move 60% faster, and taking control of objectives takes 40% less time. Match times in Escort, Hybrid, and Push only take 70% of the time. Everything is just plain faster.
This weekend is a bit of a test on Blizzard’s end to see how players feel about it as it changes the core gameplay of the shooter’s main mode but hopefully brings a more balanced experience. Since it affects the game’s main mode, it’s not something that could be done in the Arcade.
If players would rather play regular Quick Play, they can do so by starting a game with the traditional rules and inviting others. Once the weekend ends, on January 14, normal Quick Play rules will become the default again.
