Earlier today I reported on The First Descendant's New Year's event and the delay of their latest AMA Dev Stream due to the team mourning the tragic loss of life in the crash of Jeju Air Flight 2216. This past weekend, the flight attempted to land without its landing gear being extended and ended up crashing into an embankment at the end of the runway, killing all but 2 on board.

The Korean government has announced a 7-day mourning period for the nation and video game companies in the country are observing this period in thier own ways. While The First Descendant is still hosting their New Year's event, they have delayed their dev stream.

Pearl Abyss's Black Desert has delayed both their New Year's event and their usual annual video celebrating another year in the MMORPG. The above linked post is specific to the console version of the MMO.

The entire dev team, and everyone here at MMOBomb, sends their condolences to anyone impacted by the tragedy and they will revisit their plans when the mourning period has ended.

That said, Black Desert Online (PC) did still push their update patch today working on a slew of fixes and improvements mainly centered around the MMO's new Deadeye class. The update also adds new Calamity 8/9/10 difficulties to Black Shrine - Donghae (Solo).

I would expect some more Korean-based teams to be following similar protocols, so if your favorite eastern MMO doesn't have much communication with players in the next few days, you probably know why now.
