BDO Orzekea Update

Today, Pearl Abyss rolled out the first part of the culmination of Black Desert Online's Atoraxxion Storyline, Atoraxxion: Orzekea, in which players head to the final fortress to fight the Dark Invaders. The first phase allows players to explore the Orzekea field monster zones. These are being billed as “the most challenging open-field hunting grounds to date”. Phase one also kicks off the main quest, introducing players to the fourth protagonist of Atoraxxion, Orze.

A week after today’s update, on March 27, the next update will introduce the final Atoraxxion boss battle. It’s worth noting that Orzekea’s monster zones are different from previous Atoraxxion biomes, as they’ve been transformed into subjugation field monster zones. This means that when players enter Orzekea via the Elvia Realm, they’ll immediately encounter powerful field monsters. Players can skip this, however, and move directly to fighting Cathawen before facing the zone’s ultimate boss.

In addition to the new story content and biome, today’s update also kicks off a new season: Black Desert Academy. The season lasts until June 12 and offers players a permanent 1,000% Combat XP boost on the season server. That makes this a pretty good time for players to return to the MMORPG or join up. New and returning players will be rewarded for reaching level 60 with a season character. Rewards include a Choose Your PEN (V) Boss Defense Gear Box and two Radiant Start Boxes.
