Black Desert Online's March Plans Include A Hardcore Server, But There's A Caveat
The final chapter of its Atoraxxion cooperative dungeon storyline arrives this month, too.
As March nears, Black Desert Online is revealing their plans for the month in the MMORPG. Part of these plans include a new "Hardcore" server option for players looking for something a bit different. Meant to serve as the "Ultimate PvP Experience," the Hardcore Server allows you to start again wearing nothing but a basic set of gear. You'll be able to play for 2 hours each day and you'll want to gather as many survival points as you can while you're in there. Survival points are awarded through monster and player kills. However, there's a bit of a caveat to the server that isn't going over all that well in the comments section of the YouTube video reveal. See, you can can only play as one of the game's original 4 classes: Warrior, Sorceress, Ranger, and Berserker.
If you play some other class and you'd like to PvP it up on the Hardcore Server, it looks like you're just going to have to wait for a future "season" of the server.
The mode takes place in the Great Desert of Valencia and the rewards get better the further you venture into the great sandy plains. Just be cautious. There are penalties for death and you could find yourself tied up in battle in a random event that turns into a battle for your life. The Hardcore server starts on March 13th.
For those that can't take their preferred class into the Hardcore server, BDO's Atoraxxion: Orzekea dungeon storyline gets its conclusion added on March 20th. Expect to learn more about Orze and get ready to tackle the final boss "Orze of Thorns."
The quality-of-life front sees a few additions this month, as well. These include new cosmetics, a revamp to the existing Loyalty system, and an "All-in-One Preset" feature coming later this year that allows you to customize settings for various gameplay content. All of these features are explained in the video below.
