Black Desert Online Finally Adds A Pity Timer To Their Gear Upgrade System
Is this welcomed, or too late?
It’s about time Pearl Abyss added this feature to Black Desert Online.
The "Ancient Anvil" grants players the ability to ensure a successful enhancement in their next gear modification attempt. When they fail to enhance their gear, the MMORPG's system accumulates essences — or, "Agris Essence." Once a certain threshold of essences is reached, the Ancient Anvil activates, guaranteeing a successful enhancement for the player's next attempt.
This essence accumulation is individualized for each item, with weapons and armor sharing essences within the same group and enhancement level.
For example, essences gathered while attempting to enhance a TET Blackstar Greatsword can be applied to another Blackstar weapon of the same level, such as a TET Blackstar Crossbow. However, with accessories, essences are specific to each item, meaning they cannot be shared with other accessory groups or parts.
This is a welcome addition and comes on the heels of the addition of J's Hammer of Precision which allows risk free accessory enhancement.
