Big News For Overwatch 2 Players: Heroes Are Freely Available To All Going Forward
You get a hero, and you get a hero, and you get a hero. Everyone gets all the heroes.
Some interesting changes are coming to Overwatch 2, and they’re going to benefit players. Today, in a new Developer Update video, Blizzard announced changes to both Hero releases as well as how Mythic skins are unlocked in the shooter. The video also covered things like new maps and map reworks, but that’s stuff that’s still in the works. It’s the first two items that are solidified at the moment.
There’s good news. No longer do players have to wait until they can unlock a new Hero through the battle pass. Instead, all Heroes will be available to players for free as soon as they launch. That includes the most recently teased Hero, Venture, as well as all previously released Heroes. This starts with the launch of Season 10.
The Overwatch 2 team also announced that there will be a new way to unlock Mythic skins in the game. Yes, you still have to unlock those. With the launch of Season 10, players will be able to access the Mythic Shop where they can obtain Mythic Skins from seasons they may have missed. Details on how the shop will work will be made available at a later time.
As noted, the video also discusses the game’s maps. Not only will they be adding new maps, but they will also be reworking existing maps as suggested in player feedback. In fact, one season will be dedicated to map reworks. Overall, it sounds like good news for players.
