DayZ Contaminated

Something about DayZ's latest update smells rotten. That's not a take on the update itself, but the air quality in the game, which now has contaminated areas that make post-apocalyptic psudeo-Russia even more hazardous.

Update 1.14 went live today, adding static and dynamic contaminated areas, which are just what they sound like. Static areas stick around and conceal high-end loot, while dynamic areas "make the world more lively," the press release states. (That's the word I'd use to describe random parts of the world contaminated by toxic fallout: "lively.") You'll want the proper protection, such as NBC suits and gas masks, to survive these highly dangerous new zones.

The update also adds three new hunting traps -- big fishnet trap, a small fish bottle trap, and a snare trap -- as well as the tripwire booby trap for unsuspecting survivors. Another piece of new gear that's sure to be found in those high-end contaminated areas is the LE-MAS assault rifle, with its 25-round magazine that offers single, burst, and automatic fire.

Finally, helicopter crash sites have been improved, with better graphics and better loot, and a sound signal that alerts nearby players of its bounty. In addition, DayZ players on PlayStation 5 can now enjoy their hunting and killing at 60 frames per second.

The complete changelong for Update 1.14 can be found on the DayZ site for PC and console players.

I played it quiet often during its 1st steps and few update callings, its not really grown as far i have seen, with all its management swaps and help it still seems to be in a stalemate graphically and its mistakes.
DayZ main problem is not being able to let go their own engine.
They needed to make that change to using a Unreal or even Unity etc engine, this would put them on better pathway as it would be a really new one. :)
Don't get me wrong DayZ is the top survival hunt and be hunted game
The years to me have not shown any major changes in animation, environment, or other faults still there. which is kind of disappointing in 2021.
Of course this does not stop the playing of the game in anyway. its just a thought on what could be done to make that change real enough.
