Battlerite Royale's Early Access Sits Atop Steam's Best-Selling Chart
Battlerite Royale launched into its early access period yesterday (and we have free stuff to give out!), and it seems to be going well. Concurrent player count is around 5,000 and, according to Stunlock Studios' PR agency, the game reached #1 on Steam's global top sellers list. The screen capture from this historic moment is provided below.
Now, while we're not ones to doubt, we're also not sure if Steam's global top sellers list is presented in order. In fact, as you can see by the screen grab, the games are listed in order of "Relevance," and while they seems to be the types that would generate a lot of sales -- new games, like Pathfinder: Kingmaker and immensely popular old standbys like Rocket League -- without some kind of ordinal ranking, with 1's and 2's and 3's and so forth, it's a little iffy.
Whatever the case, Battlerite Royale is certainly off to a nice start, generating just about the same number of concurrent players that Battlerite did when it launched its paid early access. Here's hoping it can stick with it through the EA period and into its free-to-play launch.
