Battlerite Royale Is Going To Be Its Own Game
Because it's obviously the thing right now, Stunlock Studios announced today that Battlerite's battle royale mode -- Battlerite Royale, will now be a standalone game. The MOBA-style battle royale will enter early access on Steam in September.
The decision to make the mode a standalone game came down to the difficulty of trying to develop it in conjunction with the original game's arena mode, according to Stunlock's Marketing Director Johan Ilves.
“Battlerite Royale has become a significantly different experience and we are now separating the games so that each of them can flourish in their own right.”
It seems there will be a transition period for Battlerite players moving over to the new game. According to a blog post on the Battlerite site, dedicated playesr will be rewarded for their time in Arena when they enter Royale and all their cosmetics will be shared across accounts. That's awesome news for everyone who's already put in all that work.
