Battlefield 2042 Season 6 "Dark Creations" Gameplay Revealed, Plus Free Weekend Announced
There's a new map and storyline, plus the introduction of more weapons and gadgets.
Is it finally time for Battlefield 2042 to shine, despite the darkness?
Season 6 for the FPS, titled "Dark Creations," is set to launch on October 10. It introduces a new map, called Redacted, which focuses on close-quarters combat and includes multiple new weapons and gadgets. This claustrophobic map is inspired by fan-favorite maps from previous Battlefield titles, featuring infantry-only firefights and hidden secrets.
In this new season, the storyline involves No-Pat soldiers being captured and subjected to experiments by a sinister organization. Players can expect weapons such as the VHX D3 for close and medium-range combat, the Laugo Alien pistol for close-quarters situations, and the G428 rifle for marksmen. There’s gadgets as well, like the Ammo Pouch and Health Pouch — which will allow players to support their squads during intense battles. The YUV-2 Pondhawk, a two-person transport with flight capabilities, will also be available to assist in traversal.
Apart from the content additions, Season 6 brings several quality-of-life improvements, including Aim Assist enhancements for console players, recon balancing, and vehicle handling improvements, such as tank turning and jet handling adjustments.
Finally, Battlefield 2042 will be free to play on all platforms from October 12 to 16, so if you’re curious about this game, here’s your chance to give it a shot.
