Battlefield 2042 Players Can Log-In And Get Free Backgrounds And Weapon Charms For Series' 20th Anniversary
Can't say no to in-game goodies.
The Battlefield series has reached a whopping 20 years as of September 10, which DICE and EA continue to celebrate by giving in-game goodies to Battlefield 2042 players. Simply by logging in, players can gain five backgrounds featuring various games from the franchise and three weapon charms obtainable at different weeks.
The anniversary event in Battlefield 2042 is scheduled through September 27. During that time, fans can gain Battlefield-themed backgrounds, with one inspired by the franchise's first title in 2002: Battlefield 1942.
Alongside the Battlefield backgrounds are three weapon charms, each up for grabs at different weeks in September. "Little Trouble" is a gnome with an Ak-47 available during September 6-12, a cool army-styled penguin called "Antarctic Patrol" between September 13-19, and "Crab Rave" comes September 20-27 as a red crab with shades.
It all started here, you fought as infantry in the major theaters of WWII, changing the shape of the world with every battle.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of Battlefield, and we're celebrating with new login rewards!

From the Twitter announcement, longtime fans in the comments reminiscence over their first titles in the series and show some birthday love. Of course, Battlefield 2042's notorious status in the franchise was highlighted by many, with one user saying recent years of Battlefield have been a "definite downturn." Another says the next game in the series should be a "more modern WW2 game," or overall, a return to roots akin to older Battlefield games with a present twist.
