Battlefield 2042’s Newest Update Adds Long Awaited Features Like VoiP, Scoreboard, And Weapon Attachments
No longer will you have to hide from bullets as you type your message in text chat.
If the year wasn't 2022, Battlefield 2042 getting VoiP (Voice over Internet Protocol) would be huge, momentous, and amazing. However, the year is 2022 and in all honesty, it's shocking it took this long. For a game that often relies on coordination and communication, and to have that all be done through in-game text chat, it’s just mind boggling. Well, no need to dwell on it too much, the good news after all is that it is finally available in Battlefield 2042.
The update is live, so players should already be able to enjoy the newly updated content. There will be two voice chat channels that players can choose from, Party and Squad, and the settings for VoIP can be adjusted while in-game. In addition to VoIP, another great addition is a change to the End of Round screen as it now displays the Scoreboard and will allow players to better understand the results of the round rather than just having to accept their fate.
With Update 4.0 many weapon attachments have been changed. Before, the effects of these attachments were unclear and the impact on a player's weapon was hard to see. With the new update, the Battlefield team encourages players to try out the refreshed weapon attachments and see how they feel after the update. If you would like to read more details on these weapon updates you can read them on the EA Battlefield's website along with other general updates and bug fixes.
