[UPDATED] Battlefield 2042 Is Getting A Better Scoreboard in February's Update 3.3
Tomorrow's Update 3.2 Offers More Stability Fixes And Better Portal XP
UPDATE, Feb. 3: The February scoreboard update has been pushed back to March, DICE revealed today, "to ensure we improve the quality of our Updates, and include additional changes." This is happening after a hotfix was needed to address "areas of game instability that we’ve noticed after the release of Update #3.2," which was supposed to implement "further bug fixes and stability."
Original story: "If it is only a game, then why keep score?" Those words of wisdom were uttered by Lt. Worf in a first-season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and they're just as relevant now as they were then.
That's especially true for players of Battlefield 2042, who have had to make do with a rudimentary scoreboard since the game's launch in November, along with a few other issues. But fret not, statistics-minded warriors, you'll soon be getting a detailed scoreboard in patch 3.3, which will go live sometime in February.
The enhanced scoreboard example tweeted out by the Battlefield Direct Communication account contains all the personal stats you'd expect, along with a tally of ribbon progression and the overall match result. There's also a multiplier above each stat column, designating its weight in determining score -- handy for when you have that amazing 18/2 K/D game and wonder why you're not #1.
The scoreboard is, of course, a work in progress that will receive further updates after launch: "this isn’t a one and done deal for us," the Twitter account said.
The new scoreboard will arrive in Update 3.3; Update 3.2 goes live tomorrow, and you can read the entire patch notes here. It includes "further bug fixes and stability" for the game, as well as better XP gains in Portal. The dev team has no updates at this time regarding matchmaking preferences in All-Out Warfare and all-platform VOIP, but they still want players to know that those issues are "on our radar."
