Bandai Namco's Overwatch-like Gundam Evolution Launches Worldwide In 2022 On Consoles And PC
Sign up on Steam for next month's PC beta.
When we first got a look at Bandai Namco's free-to-play Gundam Evolution last July, we thought it looked neat, but also looked a lot like "Overwatch with mechs." The UI is practically identical to Blizzard's shooter, including that big shiny circular button in the bottom center of the screen that triggers your ultimate ability.
Sometime this year, you'll be able to find out for yourself just how similar the two games are, as it was announced today that Gundam Evolution will be launching worldwide on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC, later in 2022. The game will include 12 mechs and three 6v6 competitive game modes: Point Capture, Domination, and Destruction. More mech suits can be unlocked via in-game currency or real-money purchases, and a season pass will offer additional cosmetic options.
If you're a PC player, you can register for the Gundam Evolution closed beta via Steam. Applications are open until March 28, with the test itself taking place April 7-12. A console beta test will be announced at a later date.
