Bandai Namco Announces Supernova, A Futuristic MOBA
Bandai Namco's getting into the MOBA game, today announcing Supernova. The brainchild of Primal Game Studios, Supernova is an humans vs. aliens free for all that merges real-time strategy elements with traditional MOBA gameplay.
In addition to traditional MOBA-style gameplay, Supernova players will be able to use drops obtained in-game to craft "durable boosts" for their favorite characters to improve their base abilities. During a match, you'll deploy units, working out a synergy between infantry, land, and air units that lend an RTS feel to the game. Finally, players can call upon Mechanoughts, "planet-razing ancient technology" that carve into an opponent's defenses like a vibroknife in an alien turkey.
Supernova's closed alpha goes live today, with a full launch on PC scheduled for by the midway point of 2015. You can learn more about the game on its official site.
So, yeah, is this "just another MOBA"? Or does Supernova's sci-fi setting or RTS elements make it sound like something you'd be interested in checking out?
