Bandai Namco Announces New Battle Royale Game "Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs”
This is the Fortnite killer.
Considering the way the battle royale genre is going, I’m surprised we haven’t seen a Pac-Man one sooner...I mean, besides Pac-Man 99 which is closing.
Bandai Namco has unveiled a new multiplayer Pac-Man game called "Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs.” It is set to launch on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and the Nintendo Switch in early 2024. This retro-inspired battle royale game supports cross-platform multiplayer with up to 64 players.
Players will navigate their Pac-Men through a series of interconnected mazes that gradually disappear, creating an increasingly competitive and confined playing field. Not only must players outsmart the Ghosts, but they can also attack other Pac-Men. The game introduces power-ups that enable players to either hinder their opponents or bolster the Ghosts. Also, players can customize their Pac-Men with various costumes and cosmetic items.
While the specific release date is yet to be announced, there will be early access at New York Comic Con during Bandai Namco's Pac-Man Shine On pop-up event on October 13 and 14.
