ArcheAge II Confirms Console Version, Reworking Trade System and Allowing Guilds To Build Towns
There's even a new trailer showing off some of the development done in Unreal Engine 5.
XL Games and Kakao Games have dropped new information on the previously reported sequel to ArcheAge, ArcheAge II. Far from being the only ArcheAge related project in the works, we now know that the upcoming MMORPG will be on both PC and consoles. What consoles and when, though, remains a mystery for now.
In the video below, you'll get a quick peek at the game and its Unreal Engine 5 performance and get to sit with Executive Producer Jake Song as he spills additional details in a mini-interview.
From the interview, translated via Gematsu, Song reveals that the game will release on consoles, feature a revamped trading system that allows players to complete trade runs solo, in teams, or in raids, and even enhanced player housing with guilds able to actually build their own towns together.
Maybe more interesting is the plan for non-linear progression in the same world as ArcheAge, but with a more personal narrative for each player. "Our primary focus is on action-packed combat as well as production for an immersive storyline," said Song. "We are targeting AAA-tier visuals with Unreal Engine 5 and intend to offer a non-linear progression-based seamless open-world experience.”
Monetization details have not yet been released.
