Apex Legends Devs: Titanfall "Coming Back Into The Game, In One Way Or Another"
Twitch streaming channel BrownGirlGamerCode snagged a panel with some of the developers of Apex Legends as part of their Apex Academy program. During that stream, the people responsible for making the game let loose with a few details about the future of Apex that are sure to make some fans of its parent game very happy.
"Next season, Season 9, you're actually going to see a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game, in one way or another," said Game Director Chad Grenier. "I've told some people before, if you're a Titanfall fan, hang on for Season 9 because there's gonna be some really cool stuff there."
When Apex Legends launched, it was billed as being set after the events of Titanfall 2. Senior Writer Ashley Reed said during the stream that "we're trying to integrate Titanfall into that, because Titanfall's very much a part of the universe."
It's hard to imagine that "integrating Titanfall into Apex Legends" could mean anything but the addition of mechs that players can climb in and out of. While initially seeming cool and opening up new possibilities, it could rub some long-time players the wrong way, especially if they like the shooting and tactical action of Apex and its characters and don't want to see all that go out the window when you can just stomp around inside a mech.
We'll all just have to wait until early May when Season 9 is expected to go live -- or a little sooner if the devs open up about their plans beforehand, which it seems like they're willing to do.
